FAQs

  • What is full immersion language learning?

Full immersion language learning means that your child will receive the majority of their instruction in French. Subjects such as English, technology and social studies will be taught in English.

  • What languages are available in the immersion program?

Currently only French is offered in our immersion program, however Spanish is taught as a third language beginning in 3rd grade. We plan to offer immersion Spanish in the near future. If you are interested in a Spanish immersion program, please contact us to let us know.

  • Is there a cut-off date for applications to ISG?

ISG has a rolling admissions process, accepting children year-round who meet the eligibility criteria, both in academics and language proficiency. You may apply online if you are interested in your child attending.

  • My child does not speak French, can non-French speaking children attend?

In Pre-K and K5 there is no prerequisite for children to speak French. For students entering in CP (1st grade) or CE1 (2nd grade), children that demonstrate the potential for foreign language proficiency may qualify. Proficiency will be assessed after submission of an application for enrollment.

  • Our family does not speak French, will the teachers communicate to parents in English?

Yes! All correspondance between teachers and parents will be in both English and French. We have a diverse community of parents and many do not speak French.
